This CPCT mock test runs the complete typing part of the MP CPCT exam, in order and with the real breaks, so you can feel what the last 50-odd minutes of the exam are like before the day itself. It is free, online and needs no sign-up. It covers typing only: the 75-question MCQ section is described below so you know what to expect, but it is not simulated here.
The CPCT mock test 2026 typing pattern: sequence and timings
| Step | Block | Time | Scored? |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | English typing mock (short passage) | 5 min | No |
| 2 | Break | 1 min | — |
| 3 | English typing test (550 words) | 15 min | Yes |
| 4 | Break | 3 min | — |
| 5 | Hindi typing mock (short passage) | 10 min | No |
| 6 | Break | 5 min | — |
| 7 | Hindi typing test (550 words) | 15 min | Yes |
| 8 | Practice scorecard | — | — |
So the CPCT mock Hindi typing test runs 10 minutes, and the scored Hindi test 15 minutes. These are the timings in the official duration sheet and the September 2026 question papers. PwD candidates get 20 minutes for each scored test; tick the PwD box in the setup to practise that. Breaks count down on screen and move on by themselves, and you can press "Continue now" to skip one. For shorter CPCT typing practice in Hindi or English, pick a 10, 5 or 2-minute test length, choose English only or Hindi only, or skip the mocks and breaks.
What to expect on the mock test screen
Every block uses the same exam-style screen: Time Left at the top (amber at 2:00, red at 0:30), the passage above with the current word in yellow, correct words green and wrong words red, a typing box below, and a details panel with keystrokes, errors, backspaces, typed words, total words and remaining words. Backspace, Delete and the left and right arrows work; Enter, double spaces, Home, End and paste do not. Submit unlocks only once the whole passage is typed, and time-out submits for you. Words are graded by position, so a skipped or extra word turns the rest red until you fix it. The CPCT typing test page explains these rules in more detail.
For Hindi, choose Remington GAIL (Unicode) or Inscript: both are built in, so you type Hindi on a normal English keyboard with no software. The Hindi mock includes a layout check (type क and ि) so you can confirm the keyboard before the scored Hindi test.
Your CPCT mock test result: the practice scorecard
When the Hindi test ends, you get a scorecard modelled on the official one and marked "Practice — not an official scorecard":
- NWPM for English and Hindi, with GWPM, accuracy, correct and wrong words, backspaces and the minutes used.
- The official score band for each language and Qualified or Not qualified.
- A next-band target, such as "+4 NWPM to reach 60%".
- A suitability line: if Hindi qualifies, it notes that you meet the typing requirement for Assistant Grade-3 (clerk) posts.
- A mistake review listing each wrong word next to the correct one, and cascade detection: "You skipped 'the' at word 212. The next 8 words turned red. Fixing it would have added 8 words (+0.5 NWPM)."
- A Print scorecard button, and each scored test is saved to My progress in your browser.
| Score | English NWPM | Hindi NWPM |
|---|---|---|
| 50% | 30–40 | 20–25 |
| 60% | 41–50 | 26–30 |
| 70% | 51–60 | 31–35 |
| 80% | 61–70 | 36–40 |
| 90% | 71–80 | 41–50 |
| 100% | 81+ | 51+ |
Below 30 NWPM in English or 20 NWPM in Hindi, that language is not qualified. To work out a score by hand, use the CPCT score calculator.
CPCT exam kya hota hai? The exam pattern, including the MCQ
CPCT (Computer Proficiency Certification Test) is the Madhya Pradesh government's test of computer and typing skills for Class-III posts such as data entry operator, computer operator, IT operator, typist and Assistant Grade-3. It is conducted online at exam centres, on computers, not on paper. One sitting has two parts:
The MCQ section (not simulated here)
- 75 multiple-choice questions in 75 minutes (100 minutes for PwD candidates), shown in both Hindi and English.
- 1 mark per question and no negative marking, so answer every question.
- Passing marks: 50%, which is 38 out of 75.
- Questions test computer proficiency; general knowledge and current affairs appear only in this section, never in the typing passages. Check the official CPCT exam syllabus for the current topic list.
Many searches for a "CPCT mock test in Hindi with 75 questions" or a "CPCT mock test PDF with answers" are about this MCQ section, as are searches for a previous year paper. This site does not offer MCQ questions, answers or PDFs; it focuses on the typing part, which is where most candidates lose marks. The official CPCT portal provides a mock of the real exam interface.
The typing section (simulated on this page)
After the MCQ block and a 1-minute break come the English and Hindi typing blocks shown in the table above. Each proficiency (MCQ, English typing, Hindi typing) is qualified separately, and both typing tests must be attempted. The official scorecard is valid for 7 years from the exam date.
How to prepare for the CPCT exam at home
- Take one full CPCT mock test now (a free CPCT ke liye mock test is exactly what this page is), with Coach mode off, to get an honest baseline for both languages.
- Fix the weaker language first. For most candidates that is Hindi. Practise the CPCT Hindi typing test or single passages from the CPCT typing passage bank.
- Improve typing speed through accuracy. Only correct words count. 60 GWPM at 50% accuracy is just 30 NWPM, while 35 GWPM at 95% is 33 NWPM.
- Repeat the full mock weekly. Between mocks, do daily CPCT typing practice online in shorter blocks; that is the best typing practice for the CPCT exam because it builds both speed and endurance. Stamina across 45 minutes of typing is a skill of its own.
- Prepare the MCQ separately from the official syllabus, because it is half the exam.
How to clear the CPCT exam in the first attempt
Go into the exam with a margin: about 35–40 NWPM in English and 25–30 NWPM in Hindi at 95% accuracy in full mocks, so a 15–20% drop from nerves still qualifies. On the day, use the mocks to check your keyboard and settle your hands rather than to push speed, keep your eyes on the highlighted word, and never press keys after the summary appears.
CPCT exam form, fees and dates
You apply for CPCT online on the official CPCT portal, where the exam dates for 2026, the form, the admit card and the fee are published. The exam is usually held about every two months. This site does not take applications or track dates, so always check the portal before you plan your preparation.
